Push-
Many people are leaving Western Europe because of the political and economic instability in the region. There’s a lot of political turmoil as governments can’t effectively keep the country safe from terrorist attacks, specifically ISIS. People feel less safe, and lose confidence in their leaders. Also, there’s a lot of unemployment in this sub-region, which leads to economic downfall. A lot of young people are moving elsewhere for a more stable economy. The effects of emigration on this sub region are huge, as their population isn’t growing as much, countries like Germany’s economic growth will slow down.
Pull-
There are many pull factors to this region, as there are many Syrian refugees coming to Europe for a more stable political and economic environment, and just to stay safe. The education system in Western Europe is really good, and despite their slight economic downfall recently, their economy is still relatively good and stable. Their governments are democracies, which lead to safety and fairness amongst the people. But recently with this influx of refugees, some countries don’t really know what to do with this amount of people. But countries like Germany do need more immigrants to increase their population.
